Angelika Arendt

Angelika Arendt creates delicate sculptures from clay and porcelain. Her inspiration stems from the wide range of colors and forms found in nature. The fantastical, organically inspired objects, composed of floral and tactile elements, foliage, or droplet-like fine structures, appear to be in a dynamic state of transformation. With their poetic titles or references to ancient mythology, the connection to nature is further emphasized while simultaneously alluding to the history and significance of ceramics and porcelain.

Born in Böblingen in 1975, Angelika Arendt studied textile design at the University of Applied Sciences in Reutlingen and at the National College of Art & Design in Dublin. She went on to study painting at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe, where she was a master student of Prof. Helmut Dorner. Her works are part of important public and private collections. The artist lives and works in Berlin.
