Ghizlane Sahli is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist known for her innovative use of materials, merging traditional craft techniques with a strong commitment to environmental and social themes. She lives and works in Marrakech, Morocco, where she collaborates closely with local women artisans.
At the heart of Sahli’s work is the idea of transformation—turning discarded or overlooked materials into objects of beauty and meaning. She is best known for her development of the “Alvéoles”, three-dimensional embroidered elements made from the bottoms of used plastic bottles covered in silk thread. These units act as elemental building blocks, much like cells, and are assembled into expansive sculptural and installation works.
